In the course of construction, some local residents voiced their concerns about certain aspects of road construction near their villages to their local parliamentarian and the deputy governor of Badakhshan province, who relayed their views to the Minister of Public Works. In a demonstration of healthy governance, the minister successfully negotiated with the IRP team to bring about a mutually acceptable outcome.
